Maths- Whole Part Models
In maths this week the children have been learning to use a whole part model. In a whole part model the whole number goes in one square/ circle and the parts which the number can be split into go in the attached squares/ circles. For example, if ten was my whole number I could split it into two parts. The parts could be five and five or six and four etc.
For their home-learning this week, the children are exploring the different parts they can split six into, It will help the children to use six small toys or objects which they can split into two parts.
When they have completed the attached sheet if they would like to they can choose their own number and draw some part, whole models showing the whole and the parts.
Please do ask if you have any questions.
