This week we have been practising our number bonds to ten (these are numbers which add together to make ten- for example 5 and 5 or 6 and 4).

Play this fun game with your child to support them to learn their number bonds to ten.

Your child will need ten counters (pieces of lego would be good) to help them to work out the missing number.  The whale needs a pipe which is ten pieces long to get to the ocean. Support your child to look at the pipe which is already in place and then use their ten counters to work out which piece of pipe is needed next.

Please write in the homework book to let me know how your child got on.

    Thank you- Mrs Stuart

Next week Ash Class will be making boats. At school this week we have explored floating and sinking and also tested different materials to find out which are waterproof. The children will have all designed their boats by the end of tomorrow and now need to collect the materials they will need and bring them to school on Monday. A lot of children have used plastic bottles in their designs, some have used boxes. School will provide sellotape, masking tape, tin foil and cling film.

Please can the children bring the "junk" which they need to make their boats to school on Monday, extra junk will gratefully recieved.
