    Homework

    Main task:

It was National Poetry Day on Thursday 3rd October so for homework this week we would like you to complete a poetry themed task. You may evidence this in the medium of your choice, e.g. a review, a photo, a Power Point etc.

Please choose from the following two options:

Option 1: My favourite poem is: Walking with my Iguana by Brian Moses. What's yours?

Read a selection of poems and choose your favourite. This is a great website: https://childrens.poetryarchive.org/ Write a short explanation about why you liked it. You could record this in your Reading Record as an extra entry.

Option 2: Write your own poem about something you have observed, like Nature Trail by Benjamin Zephaniah, which we read in assembly. You could have a look at the following advice from Micheal Rosen: https://theschoolrun.com/michael-rosens-9-poetry-writing-tips-kids

Please note - Homework Books weren't returned this week due to the SD Day. Please record your homework on a piece of paper or email us a copy.

Reading: Please read as often as possible (aim for at least five times a week for 15 minutes or more). Remember to read aloud to an adult at least once a week if you can. Remember you can access lots of free online books through the Wiltshire Learning Resource Hub - https://lrh.wheelers.co
