Egg-citing Events

What an egg-cellent end to the term. Following on from the cracking Easter bingo, the school has been hatching plans to get everyone egg-cited about Easter!
Cracking wasn’t the plan on Monday- with the church’s Easter challenge. Eggs were dropped from the highest church tower and the children had a mission to rescue them. It was amazing to see the children working as teams, thinking logically and laterally about have to save the egg’s bacon. It was a blast, cheering the eggs that survived and also cheering those that sadly didn’t. Clair commended those with fascinating designs, one with a back story, and those that weren’t incredibly fascinating but did the job. There were crazy capers of eggs completely falling and bouncing on the grass but still surviving and the team whose device fell onto the church roof, then the drainpipe before finally making to the floor- three crash landings proved too many for that brave egg.
Thursday saw the start of hopefully a new tradition- the egg decorating challenge. Eggs were transformed into hungry caterpillars, gruffalos, minions, numberblocks, undersea scenes- to name just a few. All were absolutely incredible that it was impossible to choose anything other than 60 winners!
And on Friday, we remembered the true meaning of Easter with our Easter service. All children that wanted one left the church with a palm as we thought about the change of fortune between Palm Sunday and Good Friday.
We wish everyone a happy Easter holiday and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 22nd April.
