We Remember

Our value this term is, very fittingly, Peace. This week we have been thinking about world peace and celebrating Remembrance. Sycamore Class led a beautifully moving assembly about Remembrance, telling us about why we have Remembrance, the significance of poppies and stories from their own families about bravery in wars. They have written some very emotive and poignant poems about war, inspired by some of the great war poets (I’m reliably informed that these are going on display, so do ask to see them) and sang a beautiful song titled ‘Remember’- encouraging us to remember those who fought and fell so we can be free. The last message was not one of sadness but of hope: for a more peaceful world for everyone.  Well done Sycamore a very fitting tribute to hugely important subject.
