Enterprising Spirit
Our Year 6s showed their enterprising minds this week. They didn’t let a bit of rain put them off and, in true British spirit, our Young Apprentice fair went ahead as scheduled. Pieces of paper went a bit soggy, but apart from that you wouldn’t have known that it wasn’t the glorious summer’s day we were hoping for (and have every other year!). The children having wet sponges thrown at them certainly didn’t notice a bit of rain, as they were well and truly drenched by the unfortunate good aim of the customers. Sweet treats sold out swiftly and games like the Pokemon lucky dip and ‘Beat the Goalie’ proved a roaring success.
If you guessed the name of the teddy or the number of sweets in a jar then you only have to wait until Friday’s assembly to find out if you are the lucky winner. The Year 6s have to wait a bit longer to find out if they are the team that made the most profit as they won’t find out until the leaver’s service.
Altogether they made an unbelievable total profit of over £220 which they have chosen to donate to Cancer Research. Congratulations Year 6s- even Lord Sugar would be proud of that!
