You got a friend in me
This term our value is friendship and Willow Class have led a wonderful assembly at St Thomas A Beckett Church all about why friends are important. They taught us about Jesus’ 12 special friends (now I can name them all thanks to Willow Class) and introduced us to the story of how they became disciples. They also left us with key thoughts of how we treat our friends and how we would like to be treated by our friends. It was incredible to think that this was their first ever class assembly as they all spoke so clearly and confidently (not to mention the fantastic acting of the fishermen mending and casting their nets). Well done Willow Class!
We also introduced our new sports leaders, who after a gruelling recruitment and training programme (they claimed it was just fun but I’m sure we made it gruelling!), are now ready to lead break time activities for all children to join in. If children want to make new friends, find out about some new games that they can play with their friends or just want to take part in some extra sporting games during the day, then they just need to spot our sports leaders on duty. How will they know who the sports leaders on duty are? Well, by their extra special, luminous orange hats of course! Easy to spot from anywhere on The Rec. Get ready to play Chicken, Twin, Hero; fishy, fishy swim and fishes and orcas with our brilliant new sports leaders and make a whole new set of friendships!
